Kangra Valley:- Kangra valley is situated in Himachal Pradesh, India. It is one of the popular tourist destinations around Himachal Pradesh, with the mountain season around March and April. It is located in the mid of the Himachal Pradesh. There are numbers of places in Kangra that is visited by number of tourist and many other every year. Dharmshala, the headquarters of Kangra district, lies on the southern drive of Dhauladhar in the valley. Kangra district came into the existence in 1st September 1972 after re-organization of districts by the Govt. Kangra district derives its old name Kangra town that is known as Nagarkot in the very old time. There are number of destination in Kangra in which one of the famous is Kangra Fort. The fort was built by royal family of Kangra. This is the oldest fort of Himanchal as well as India. Kangra Fort is located round off 20 -25 K.M from the Dharmshala. Entrance to Kangra Fort through Ranjit Sing Gate. At the mid there is a Laxmi Narayan Temple and Mahavir in Ambika Mata temple on the top of Kangra Fort. This is the right place to spend your holidays and weekend with your family and your loved once.
